Oma and Opa: The Woodshed

Mom and dad treated us to dinner at the Woodshed, one of our favorites. Again, it was a great day and the girls love walking around and being outside.

Oma and Opa: Botancial gardens

It was a beautiful day to go to the botanical gardens and the girls had fun running around, exploring, watching the turtles in the pond, blowing bubbles, and playing with their toys.

Oma and Opa time

Jason's parents flew in from Michigan to spend a week with us. The girls had a blast with their Oma and Opa and enjoyed a trip to the zoo,  bubbles in the botanical gardens, water tea parties outside, eating at the Woodshed and lots of games at home. We had a wonderful week and at the end of it Claire for the first time felt the heart break of having loved ones leave. She cried for an entire day and begged us to let her fly to Michigan so she could see her Oma and Opa again. So here are some pictures of our time together, first up the zoo.

At long last...

Wow, it has been forever since I posted anything. Every time I have thought about posting something has come up to prevent me from getting caught up. Since my last post we have had two visitors from Michigan, a death in my family, a baby who had to be hospitalized, and lots of crazy moments with my 3 girls. Aunt Katie came out during Easter time to love up the girls and then Jason's Uncle John came out for a one day visit. My sweet and dear Grandma Zepeda had a terrible stroke on Good Friday and passed away almost a week later. There were many emotional moments watching my 3 year old Claire cuddle up in her hospital bed, hold her hand, and sing hymns and lullabies to her. My dad's whole family came into town and my parents house had as many as 30 people coming and going to say their good byes. Every time Claire sees a beautiful flower she picks it and asks if she can give it to Grandma Zepeda. I'm hoping Claire will be able to remember my grandma, she still remembers now how much my grandma loved flowers and how she always had M n M candies in her room.

Hannah caught a crazy virus that affected her breathing and we had to take her to the ER. Once there, they didn't want to release her until her breathing was under control. Once the breathing was ok, they wanted to keep her another night because she was dehydrated. Poor baby didn't want to nurse so they had to put an IV in her. We finally made it home and the road to recovery has been slow but God has graciously sustained us through it all.

So here are some updated pictures...

My dad the artist

When my daddy isn't delivering babies at Baylor hospital he loves to paint and draw. If you have been to my home then you have seen many of his art pieces adorning our walls. We are truly spoiled to have an artist in the family especially one who loves to paint and draw his grand babies :) He just started this drawing of Grace (she is 4 months old in the picture) and this is what he accomplished in only 2 days.  It's not finished but I am so so excited to see the finished product and then of course hang it in my home....if he doesn't hang it in his home first :) I just had to share and brag just a little bit about my daddy's amazing art skills.
